Pesach is in the air
My hardest time of year
My life’s disorganized and rearranged,
I’m starting to feel like I’m deranged!
Things have been moved from their place,
I no longer have my own space.
I cannot find my stuff;
As someone who’s blind, that’s really tough.
They’re trying to reorganize me,
It’s as frustrating as can be.
Do they think my name is Helen?
Are they trying to punish me for yellin’?
Shaking me up by moving my stuff around,
So, my possessions are nowhere to be found?
How would you like it the other way?
Just try being me for a day!
Not knowing where your belongings will land –
I’m annoyed – can’t you understand?
I know this is necessary and must be done,
But for me, it’s really no fun.
I wish I could enjoy this hustle,
Just like everyone else as they bustle!
I want to be flexible with the rest of the brood,
And even join in on the festive mood.
It really is quite upsetting,
That instead of joyous, frustrated I’m getting.
Because it’s hard enough on a normal day,
To know where my belongings stay.
If I cannot see,
At least my belongings should be
Where I put them last
So, I can find them fast
These changes are way too confusing,
And no, I do not find them amusing
Now imagine this was your plight!
For me it’s all day and all night.
So, I sit and count down the days
Until I can pull out of his haze
When finally, my space will again be my own
And I’ll get rid of this whiny tone.
We pray that Moshiach will be here soon,
And then I can join in everyone else’s happy tune!
Love it, it’s really great!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed 😀
Your poems really are so honest and relatable.
love this website
Thank you so much!! Glad you’re here 😊
Once again, your poetry is outstanding! Amen!
Aww thank you so much! 😊
Gitty you’re the best! You really really have a knack of putting to paper what you feel and in a whimsical cute way, AND in rhyme!! Thank you so much for putting things in perspective so we can each appreciate what we have. I’m sure your upbeat smile has already kicked in and isn’t waiting til after Pesach!!
So here’s 2 thoughts I have and one thought follows the other:
1. Isn’t it so interesting
That this very thing
About the stress and worrying
It’s universal – this mood swing!
It comes to all us good women
Who probably wish to be swimmin
But instead are literally turning over
Hopefully in time for Passover!
2. But each of us must reshape our thought
And realize what Hashem has brought
The Brochos He has given
Has to keep us driven
To joyously greet the part
That we relive our Nation’s start.
Each one of us was there
He had me and you in Mind, each person so dear
We’ll relive His love for us
And we will discuss
How we can’t even fathom this love
All the way to me and you in tof shin peh vov
In all the details of our day, month, year
Sometimes Hidden, sometimes Clear
But no question He’s always right Here!
And just like in the days gone past
The salvation came really fast
We too know that will happen again
Hopefully this Nissan – Amen Amen!!
We’ll dance and sing, we’ll hear and see!
See you soon in Yerushalayim – make sure to save a place for me!!
I always told that to Chaya a”h – that Moshiach is coming to her first
And she should call me right away and make sure I’m with her! So now I’m telling you – make sure to put in a good word for all of us!
Wow wow wow that was incredible!! Thank you so much for the boost, Amen, amen!!
I love it!!! I got a nice chuckle out of it.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it 😀
