I’ve just embarked on a huge journey – I am working on getting my master’s degree!! I’ve waited so long to do this, and I was really excited and nervous to take the plunge, but here I am! It’s a lot tougher than I expected, so cheer me on as I plow through! With G-d’s help, challenges can’t break me – they will only make me 😊
I embarked on a journey
Not knowing where I would land.
It was a journey that I dreamt of taking –
I thought it would really be grand.
I would earn a Master’s degree,
And finally become certified
To be a social worker,
And help people citywide.
My combo platter of disabilities
Gives me an inside view
Of what people like me, need,
And how I can help them too.
My college journey began unexpectedly difficult –
The website was impossible to navigate!
I worked so hard to take this leap,
Would it turn into something that I hate?
Listening to audio recordings,
The textbooks are a bore.
Hearing them drone on and on
I think I’ll fall asleep, for sure.
Unable to retain what I’m hearing
The main points are all lost.
Do you have any idea
How much this Master’s degree costs?
But this is something I want to do!
So, onward I will climb.
And when the going gets tough,
I’ll talk about it in rhyme.
Cuz you won’t see me quitting,
No matter how hard it gets
You’ll see that I’ll pull through –
Wanna make some bets?
Follow your dreams
And set your goals high.
You never know how far you’ll go,
When you decide to try!
