The month of Adar is here
Purim is in the air
Funny costumes we will wear!
The king’s command, Vashti did not obey
She should be killed, the advisors did say.
It was carried out the very same day.
Esther became queen,
But kept her background unseen.
Mordechai would not bow or lean.
Haman wanted to annihilate-
For the jews he had a strong hate
We were in a terrible state.
A decree went out across the land;
The Jews did not understand
How they would see Hashem’s Hand.
The Jews fasted and prayed –
To go to the king Esther was afraid,
Mordechai convinced her, and to see her off he stayed.
Haman’s plan turned on it’s head.
Mordechai was honored, and through the streets was lead.
Haman ended up on the gallows, instead.
Hashem remained hidden throughout this story
It was almost starting to sound gory
Until Hashem was revealed in all His Glory!
