It’s really not fun trying to do the same thing over and over. Especially when it’s just not working out and keeps falling apart! If we can stop for a minute and think about it, that’s really what life is all about – if you don’t succeed the first time, try and try again!
As I sit,
Weaving loom in hand
Hoping to make
A pot holder, so grand
Under and over,
The loops form in a row.
My hands work fervently
As I go.
Suddenly I lose my grip;
The loops begin to pop,
And straight down the loom
My hard work begins to drop.
But you know me –
I don’t give up so fast.
Patiently, I redo those loops,
And hope that they will last.
But those loops are stubborn,
And they put up a fight,
Popping right off again
As I try to pull them tight.
I’m still not giving up;
I have a pot holder to make.
So, I keep up the struggle –
I won’t let myself break.
And then I think, ‘This feels familiar;
This loom reminds me of me!
There are ups and downs in life,
But I must keep going, you see.
Believe me, there are times
When I fall, and when I stumble
But if I want to get places,
I can’t allow myself to crumble.’
So instead I try, again and again,
Until I reach my goal.
I may not get there right away,
But that’s just how I roll!
Gitty, you are a true inspiration! What a powerful lesson for life!
Thank you! Hope to keep you inspired 😀
Love it! You have such talent! And lo and behold, you remind me of me, too! Don’t we all do the same things over and over? If at first you don’t succeed – try, try again! Or… yagata u’matzasa, ta’amin!
